  • Juneteenth Commemoration Set for PA
    As the birthplace of the American dialogue on emancipation, the Pennsylvania Tourism Office will commemorate the end of slavery and recognize Juneteenth in the United States through Quest for Freedom Live & Learn Weekends. Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of the end of slavery.   (06/09/08)

  • Important Absentee Ballot Information and Deadlines
    The last day to apply for an absentee ballot for Pennsylvania's upcoming primary election is April 15. All absentee ballots, except those received from military and overseas electors and those received from emergency absentee electors, must be received by the county boards of elections not later than 5:00 p.m. on April 18, 2008 to be counted. For information on when and how to use an absentee ballot, visit the Pennsylvania Department of State website at http://www.votespa.com/ and click on the absentee ballot quick link.   (04/07/08)

  • PA State Police Encouraging Support of Project Blue Light for the Holidays
    Add blue lights to your holiday decorations, place a single blue light in a window, or tie a blue ribbon on your car antenna in support of active and fallen law enforcement officers during Project Blue Light. The PA State Police (PSP) is joining with Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc (COPS), a nonprofit organization, in promoting the display of blue during the holiday season.   (12/06/07)

    [07/23/08] PA TREASURER UNVEILS STATE GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS ONLINE DATABASE
    Created in accordance with new Right-to-Know law provision authored by Sen. Jake Corman

    (HARRISBURG) - Pennsylvania Treasurer Robin L. Wiessmann yesterday publicly unveiled a searchable database that allows the public greater access to state government contract information through the Pennsylvania Treasury Department's Web site, patreasury.org.
