  • Vacation Plans Not a Problem for PennDOT
    If your vehicle registration or driver license will expire during busy summer plans, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding motorists not to fret. PennDOT offers driver and vehicle online services 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, including driver license renewal, photo ID, vehicle registrations, driver-history services, change of address, and exam scheduling.   (07/28/08)

  • Passport Renewals
    If your upcoming vacation will take you to another country and you already have a passport, the U.S. Department of State reminds travelers that individuals who were 15 or younger when their passport was issued will find it is valid for 5 years. For those who were issued a passport at 16 or older, their passport remains valid for 10 years.   (07/28/08)

  • Responding to Risky Driving Behaviors
    Pennsylvania State Police report the 2008 July 4th holiday period was marred by those exercising risky driving behavior. Tickets for speeding, failure to wear seatbelts, children unsecured by safety seats, and those driving under the influence accounted for 7,670 of the citations issued by PSP.   (07/17/08)

  • Boating & the Correct Personal Flotation Device
    Eighty-five percent of all boating deaths could have been prevented if the victims had been wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) or life jacket, according to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (PF&BC).   (07/07/08)

    Created in accordance with new Right-to-Know law provision authored by Sen. Jake Corman

    (HARRISBURG) - Pennsylvania Treasurer Robin L. Wiessmann yesterday publicly unveiled a searchable database that allows the public greater access to state government contract information through the Pennsylvania Treasury Department's Web site, patreasury.org.
